I received my first camera when I was 9. Composing and creating images at such a young age was an exciting and powerful feeling. Decades later, I’m still at it.

After growing up in Santa Barbara, I moved to Hawaii as a young man. I photographed the ocean, landscapes and people, then became drawn to the architecture of Honolulu. Although I was in Hawaii, this was the first big city I’d ever spent time in. I had always planned on becoming an architect, so combining photography and architecture was very natural for me. The combination of light, texture, people and geometry was a perfect match for where I wanted to go with my work.

I moved to Europe a few years later and was accepted into a modest photographic institute in Cambridge, England. I began to specialize in large format photography with an emphasis on architecture. I studied, assisted and worked on my craft, then shortly after graduating I moved to London where I lived for 8 years. My work was quickly accepted by the architectural community and commissions began to take me across England and much of Western Europe. It was the beginning of an exciting career.

I returned to California which is again home, but I make a point to keep exploring and I’m happy to travel whenever the work takes me. I truly enjoy my work and appreciate the experiences and great people I meet along the way.
